MIDFLORIDA has entered into an agreement to acquire Prime Meridian Bank in Tallahassee, Florida. This represents the third bank acquisition for MIDFLORIDA in the last five years.

Members continually ask for access to the branch network throughout Florida. This represents a natural expansion plan but offers it at a more accelerated rate. In fact, currently, we have members that live in these areas that bank with us but have no access to a nearby branch.

The culture, as well as the products and services of Prime Meridian mirror MIDFLORIDA’s commitment to customer service and customer needs. Second, the bank’s market represents an opportunity to grow into the panhandle to service existing customers as well as the opportunity to grow. Prime Meridian’s structure complements MIDFLORIDA’s and will result in an even stronger financial institution.

Once the merger is finalized, MIDFLORIDA members will have access to a branch network of more than 66 branches throughout the state of Florida.

By combining each institution’s strengths, Prime Meridian's customers will benefit from a deeper commitment to exceptional service, more convenient hours, and premier products and services with branches across the state.

If all approvals and closings proceed as anticipated, Prime Meridian customers will be able to use MIDFLORIDA branches at some point in 2026. Prime Meridian customers will receive correspondence during the merger process that will outline details more clearly as the merger progresses.

Prime Meridian Bank customers will continue to bank as normal for now. MIDFLORIDA is committed to providing excellent customer service, and will communicate regularly to keep customers informed. As we move forward with the merger process, customers will receive correspondence that will outline details more clearly to make the transition as smooth as possible.
